How To Take Care Of Your Plate Serving Set?
Plate serving set covers are one of the essential accessories that have to be kept on a kitchen. Such serving utensils can easily be wiped and cleaned at times but when it comes to storing and protecting them, they are not very efficient as they simply do not have any features that can protect them well. If you are planning to buy one of such serving sets, then you must know how to care for them so that they last long. In this article we will discuss some tips that can help you take good care of your serving utensils.
There are quite a number of serving sets available in the market. All of them come with different types of plates. Each of them differ in their size and shapes. When you start using your plates, it is important to remember that they should be kept separately from each other so that their shapes do not get mixed up. If the plates are kept together then they may get damaged quickly as they have to be moved after use.
It is very important to keep the plates separately from one another. This is because different types of plates have different features. Some plates are very thin, whereas others are thicker. The thickness of the plates determines how much washing and cleaning they need. Therefore you should consider all these factors before buying a serving set and then clean them properly.
You should wash the plates with plain warm water as soap will cause damage to them. If possible you should use a detergent that is suitable for plates. Some of the detergents can cause damage to the plates if they are used regularly. So you should try to find a detergent that is specifically made for plates.
Before starting to wash the plates you should rinse them in water and soap. Rinse the plates thoroughly so that all soap remains on them. After rinsing them you should lay them out to dry. However you should avoid putting them under direct sunlight so that they do not get damaged. If possible you should cover them until they are completely dry.
If you do not want to use the dishwasher then you can use a towel to dry the plates properly. Wash the plates in hot water, but make sure that you do not burn them when you do so. In case you do not have a dishwasher, you should soak the plates in warm water with a few tablespoons of lemon juice added. Afterward you should dry them with a clean piece of cloth. If possible you should cut the paper towel into strips so that you can use them for drying the dishes.
If you have a dishwasher, you should pour warm water into the dishwasher and wait for it to start cleaning the plates properly. Then you should rinse the plates properly using lemon juice and a sponge. When you wash the dishes, you should rinse them all at once using hot water. This way you will get rid of all soap residues that might have built up on the plates over time. If possible you should cover the plates until they are totally dry. In case you cannot do this, you should place the plates where they belong and then fold them over so that they are lying straight again.
You should be able to serve your guests with the plate serving set without any problems. However, if you notice that there are small cracks on the plates then you should use a salad spinner immediately. Also you should never allow the plates to come into contact with cold air as that could cause them to crack even more. It is best to store the serving set in a cool dry place. If you have purchased an already made set and have washed them properly you can store them in a cooler for a while.
