How to Make Use of Berry Spoons
Berry Spoons comes in all shapes and sizes and are made of many different types of fruit. They're generally used for adding a bit of something to a dessert or for garnishing just about anything with a spout. When using them as a garnish, be creative!
You can use your imagination when designing recipes with these items. For example, how about using them with fresh strawberries to create a strawberry flavored pie? Fill a large bowl with about 2 cups of the fruit and place the spoons in it. Gently place the berries into the center of the bowl. Top off the filling with a cherry or other fruit topping and freeze the whole thing until you're ready to serve. Using your vacuum sealer, you can then take the vacuum sealed strawberries out of the container and spoon the mixture into the bowl along with the rest of the pie filling.
If you'd like to use fresh fruit for your jams and jellies, you can do that also. Use fresh strawberries instead of canned. Just cut them in half and place them in the same bowl with the canned fruits. Use a rubber spatula to turn them over so that they're all in one piece. Use a fork to scrape the seeds from each and every one.
Don't forget how versatile this fruit is! You can use it in so many different recipes. How about a fresh fruit salad with slivered almonds, grated ginger, and shredded carrots? How about a bowl of red cabbage with slivered peas and dill? How about a delicious berry salad with slivered almonds and slivered tomatoes? There's many ways to enjoy the amazing taste of berries in a bowl.
You can even top off your dessert with a sprig of freshly sliced strawberries. If you want to take it up a notch, drizzle some confectioner's sugar over top. It will give it just the right touch of sweetness. You could also top off a fruit salad with chunks of unsalted nuts. Another way to add some crunch to your salad is to mix chopped pecans with grated carrots and cottage cheese.
There are some things to watch out for when using a spoon for dessert. If you're not using a scoop, you'll probably end up wasting a lot of food. If you put all the fruit in one big bowl, you're likely to end up with more waste than you came with! Spoons work best when you're adding small bits of fruit at a time. That way, you know that you're going to get the most out of using them. If you're serving it to guests, be sure to add more than enough to come up with the serving size you're going to need.
There are many varieties of spoons that you can use for cakes and desserts. Your local grocery store or even a cake outlet should have a wide selection. For cakes that you plan on making more than one person at home, I would suggest choosing one that has a long handle so you can easily lift it and transfer it from one cake to another. They also tend to have less weight since the bristles aren't made of hard materials.
Some people prefer to decorate their fruit bowls in a particular way. The classic way is to place a small ribbon or flowers on the handle. This way, you can find all sorts of different arrangements depending on what berries you're serving. Another fun way to decorate your spoon is to use frosting. You can choose from many different recipes or simply paint the bowl in a bright color, such as hot pink for summer or royal blue for a fall occasion.
